Diamond Dogs - Poster Design

Fashion: *DIAMOND DOGS*

In the first part of this two days fashionshooting I was supposed to create an atmosphere or mood which this fashion line is supposed to express (an homage to David Bowie and the 80's glamrock era). The second part was about showing the actual garment.

Two Days Fashion Shooting

Yesterday and on Sunday I have been working on a fashion shoot for the degree of to-be fashion designer Julia Jamitzky. Unfortunately I am not allowed to publish any of the pictures before her final exam in December. But I am glad to have worked with such a great team. Thanks to everyone involved! Pictures coming soon!

Classical

... and again a very successful shooting today!
Thomas Sporrer is a young drummer and percussionist, who plays both Rock/Pop/Jazz and classical percussions in various bands and orchestras. For his classical representation the "Kurhaus" in Augsburg was the perfect location to take portrait photos for his website.
and a more casual one ...

Degree Thesis

Title: Alternative Portrait Photography in Nurseries and Elementary Schools

The core idea was to take an alternative approach to childrens‘ portrait photography. Traditionally, children in nurseries and elementary schools are photographed in front of a coloured background, often making them feel uncomfortable in the process. My alternative approach consists of observing them in their normal playing environment, where they are naturally at ease, which would ultimately translate into more natural looking portraits.

A selection of the results can be seen on www.kita-fotos.de

In addition to the photographic element of the thesis, I wanted to create an overall concept for a childrens‘ portrait company based on the approach outlined above, so I developed a corresponding logo and web presence.

Trying Sin City Style ...

One of my dreams within the last years always has been to take photos in Sin City light. Now I finally tried. The models are two boys I met a while ago in the club where I work once a week. Both sweet 18 and absolutely unexperienced infront of the camera ^^ But it was a great shooting and I am really satisfied with the result (it's quite close to what I intended to achieve).

Of course I HAD TO play around with some typo - it just suggested itself :) So now I have started two different series, which I intend to continue anytime soon.

Series I: RoFa (= abbreviation for the name of the club I work in)

Series II: Simple Plan - Take My Hand (I just LOVE that song!!!)

I know, the second one looks alot like some cheesy boygroup thingy, but listen to the song and its only half as cheesy then ... I hope ;)

Meeting Syd Mead

Last week Syd Mead was visiting Germany. After his presentations at the fmx in Stuttgart, at RTT in Munich and Munich University he came to present at our University in Augsburg, too. I was one of the lucky students, who were allowed to accompany him all day for documentation purposes. I'm proud to present you some of the photos I took that day.
For more check out the Syd Mead flickr pool.

My colleages (Dennis, Vi and Michael) checking on the equipment and preparing for the interview...

Interview in the car (Michael has done a great job!!!), on the way from Munich to Augsburg...
